Botox is a neurotoxin that works to temporarily reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles. Botox has been used for the treatment of facial lines for over 20 years, with predicable results.  Wrinkles are created over time as we repeat facial expressions. Botox weakens the strength of muscle contraction below the skin, smoothing the appearance of wrinkles.  Overtime the botox wears off, treatments are repeated on average every 3 months. 

What areas can be treated? Forehead lines,  “11” lines,  brow lift,  ”crows feet”, under eye lines, marionette lines,

The term fillers refers to a group of injectable medications that can be used to restore a more youthful appearance to the face. They are made of  hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in our bodies, but is broken down overtime. Fillers can be used to improve volume and shape in the lips, as well as in the cheeks, and can be used to reduce the appearance of facial folds such as the nasal labial folds or marionette lines, and also to reduce hollowness/ sunken in apperance  under the eyes. To minimize pain we use a nerve block as well as topical numbing cream. Treatments usually take about an hour. There is some down time post procedure, with expected bruising and swelling that can last for up to two weeks. Rarely filler can obstruct a blood vessel, and needs to be dissolved to restore blood flow.
